On 17 June 2026, America House Kyiv hosted the event ‘From Education to Innovation: Celebrating Freedom 250’, organised by American Councils for International Education with the support of the US Embassy in Ukraine. The event was dedicated to the 250th anniversary of US independence and the role of education in fostering innovation. Jonas Stewart (Cultural Counsellor at the US Embassy in Kyiv) and Natalia Misyura (American Councils) addressed the participants with welcoming remarks.
The programme covered a wide range of topics in the fields of education and innovation. Participants attended an expert session on the transformation of Lviv Polytechnic’s innovation ecosystem, presented by Nataliia Ivankova. Two panel discussions took place: ‘Business Education for Young People’, featuring entrepreneurs and academics, and ‘Innovation in Higher Education: The Experience of Graduates from the BridgeUSA UPRR/UAFP Programmes’. The event concluded with informal networking among the graduates, a tour of the Freedom 250 exhibition, and a guided tour of America House Kyiv.
Representatives from Berdiansk State Pedagogical University took part in the event: First Vice-Rector Olga Gurenko, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities Marina Bogdanova, and Head of the Department of Law Dmytro Kamenskyi. The event provided a valuable opportunity to exchange experiences, forge partnerships, and learn about best practices for integrating innovation into the educational and scientific environment of Ukraine.
