As part of activities aimed at preventing fraud, the staff of BDPU attended a themed lecture dedicated to current issues of information security and the protection of personal data. The session was conducted by Captain Yevhenii Samoilenko, an officer of the Criminal Analysis Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Zaporizhzhia region.
During the event, participants reviewed in detail the most common modern fraud schemes, including methods of social engineering, phishing, and telephone manipulation that citizens frequently encounter in their daily lives. The lecturer paid particular attention to practical action algorithms in case of suspicious situations, rules for safe use of banking services, and protection of social media accounts.
The knowledge gained will help university staff not only safeguard their personal finances but also carry out educational work among students, thereby enhancing the overall level of digital literacy and vigilance within the academic environment. This training represented an important step within the framework of the nationwide campaign to prevent cybercrime, as the awareness of each employee serves as a reliable barrier against malicious actions.
