On April 16, 2026, at the initiative of Professor Olha Hurenko, a training session was held for PhD students majoring in 011 Educational and Pedagogical Sciences within the framework of the course “Inclusive Approaches in Education.” The session featured Artem Poluliakhov, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Foreign Languages and Teaching Methodology, and was dedicated to reflection as an important tool for personal and professional development.

During the meeting, participants had the opportunity to explore актуальні aspects of an individual’s inner world. In particular, they examined the concepts of internal conflicts and the so-called “guilt conflict,” which often arises in the process of decision-making. Special attention was paid to understanding one’s own experiences and the mechanisms for overcoming them through reflection.

In the context of inclusive education, reflection was considered an essential tool for embracing diversity and developing a teacher’s ability for self-understanding and understanding others. It was emphasized that awareness of one’s own attitudes and biases is a necessary condition for creating a safe and supportive educational environment for all participants in the learning process.

Particular emphasis was placed on practical aspects: how to learn to be honest with oneself, avoid rigid self-imposed limitations, and find a balance between personal values and external demands. Participants concluded that reflection is the key to self-development, as it enables a deeper understanding of one’s emotions, motivations, and behavior.

The event contributed to fostering a conscious approach to personal life and professional activity. As the speaker emphasized, the desire to make the world a better place should begin with an individual’s inner state—through harmony with oneself and a positive sense of self.
