New creative guidelines: Olympiad at the Department of Theory and Methods of Teaching Artistic Disciplines

In accordance with the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine No. 1/23400-25 dated November 5, 2025 «On holding the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in the 2025/2026 academic year », on the basis of the Department of Theory and Methods of Teaching Artistic Disciplines of the Berdyansk State Pedagogical University, the 1st stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in the specialty A4.13 Secondary Education (Art. Musical Art) was held on March 20, 2026.

The goal of the Olympiad is to identify the level of theoretical knowledge and methodological competence of higher education applicants studying in the Secondary Education (Musical Arts and English) educational program, their performing and professional skills.

Students of the 3rd and 4th years of the first (bachelor’s) level of higher education in the specialty A4.13 Secondary Education (Art. Musical Art) of full-time and part-time study were invited to participate in the Olympiad.

The participants of the Olympiad were evaluated by teachers of the Department of Theory and Methods of Teaching Artistic Disciplines of the BDPU (Candidate of Science, Associate Professor, Head of the Department Olena Buzova, Candidate of Science, Associate Professor Viktoria Hryhorieva, Senior Lecturer Viktor Zamashnyuk, Doctor of Science, Professor Tetyana Stratan-Artyshkova) and a member of the Employers’ Council of the specialty A4.13 Secondary Education (Art. Music) (https://surl.lt/lrkptu), an art teacher at the Berdyansk Gymnasium «Perlyna» of the Berdyansk City Council of the Zaporizhia region, Khrystyna Serhiivna Bondarenko.

According to the results of two rounds, 1st place was won by a 4th-year student of group 43mm, Halyna Iyulska, 2nd place was won by a 33MM student of group 33MM, Anton Galitsyn, and 3rd place was won by a 4th-year student of part-time study, Svitlana Ustyanska. Polina Ocheretenko, a full-time student of group 43mm, was also awarded a participant’s diploma.

The applicants demonstrated a high level of theoretical and practical training in the methodology of teaching art at the GSEI using English-language content and modern digital technologies.

In her closing remarks, the Head of the Jury, Khrystyna Bondarenko, noted the high level of professional competence of the Olympiad participants and made a number of constructive recommendations for improving the content of the Olympiad program and maximizing the involvement of applicants of all levels of education.
