On March 19, 2026, the teaching staff of the Sofia Rusova Kindergarten School in Kyiv was invited to the methodological meeting room by Alla Omelyanenko, associate professor of the Department of Preschool Education.

In the methodological lounge, they discussed effective methods and techniques for developing coherent speech in preschool children, and had the opportunity to systematize various classifications of monologue. The teachers actively practiced identifying the characteristic features of description, narration, and reflection, which are proposed by modern Ukrainian scholars in preschool linguistic didactics.

In the methodological lounge, teachers learned about the structural and syntactic scheme for the middle group. The speaker suggested didactic speech games that are appropriate to use in teaching older preschoolers to compose a reflection

Teacher-methodologist Natalia Prykhodko was interested in the developmental possibilities of the modeling method. She also presented a video fragment of a speech development lesson in the middle group. By the way, one five-year-old girl from this group dreams of becoming a teacher. When she was invited to her first year at the university, she confidently replied: “I will come!”

As noted by the museum director Lyudmila Sinekop, it was an inspiration for further work with children, a lively dialogue, and modern approaches based on Sofia Rusova’s ideas of national education.

Natalia Myronyuk, the director of the Sofia Rusova Kindergarten, thanked for the cooperation, openness, and desire to develop high-quality preschool education.

The methodological living room has become a valuable achievement in professional growth and exchange of experience between BDPU scientists and preschool education practitioners.
