Artificial intelligence writes texts, creates images, analyzes information and helps students prepare for classes. But do we really know how to work with it? And where do its capabilities end? These questions launched AI Week, organized by the Student Council of the Faculty of Psychological and Pedagogical Education and Arts. The idea was simple: less theory, more practice. Throughout the week, students tested their knowledge, mastered new tools, competed against algorithms and even created their own digital products.

At the opening, participants were introduced to the program and discussed the role of artificial intelligence in education. From the very start, the organizers set the tone: AI is not just a technology, but a new way to learn, create and bring ideas to life.

The warm-up was an online quiz, “How Much Do You Know About AI?” Some confidently showed off their knowledge, others discovered something new, and that was exactly the point.

Then it was time to get down to business. At the master class “A Toolkit of Modern AI Tools for Creating Educational Content,” Andrian Kuza, a bachelor’s student majoring in Primary Education, showed AI resources in action. No dry theory: participants saw with their own eyes how artificial intelligence can be used to prepare learning materials. The event received plenty of positive feedback, and every participant was awarded a certificate.

The fourth day turned into a real showdown. In the online battle “AI vs Students,” two teams took on artificial intelligence, calling on creativity, out-of-the-box thinking and lightning-fast reactions. The battle became one of the highlights of the week and proved that competing with a machine can be genuinely exciting.

The grand finale was the contest “AI: A Teacher’s Assistant and Opponent.” Contestants presented projects in which their own ideas met the possibilities of AI. The winner was chosen by the audience. The most votes went to Stanislav Yekimov, a bachelor’s student majoring in Psychology, for his project “TI-MAK ‘0-8-0’ AI,” an online system of metaphorical associative cards with AI-powered analysis. In just a few days, participants went from their first encounter with AI to creating their own projects.

The week became a space for learning, experimenting and open dialogue about technology. Its main takeaway is simple: artificial intelligence can do a lot, but it is people who decide what to do with those possibilities. Technology can help and speed things up, yet ideas, critical thinking, creativity and responsibility remain ours.
