On October 20, the Faculty of Psychological and Pedagogical Education and Arts united educators around a relevant topic by hosting a guest online lecture titled “Suggestive Pedagogy: Opportunities and Limits of Suggestion in Education.” This meeting became a space for a deep professional dialogue thanks to the synergy of theory and practice. The professional tone and high scientific level of the discussion were set by Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Pedagogy Nadiya Vientseva. Dmytro Telpis, a postgraduate student of the Department of Applied Linguistics at Odesa I.I. Mechnikov National University, a lecturer at Odesa National Economic University, and a practicing teacher at the Odesa private educational institution “Tikva – Or Sameach,” shared his unique experience and modern vision of suggestive technologies.

Special attention during the lecture was given to the architectonics of communicative influence and its role in modern schools. Attendees analyzed in detail real practical cases that clearly demonstrated how the laws of suggestion operate in an actual educational process.

The speaker emphasized that a neutral teacher does not exist, as pedagogical influence is inevitable, and true mastery lies in its mindful application for the benefit of the learner. The presenter revealed ways to overcome students’ internal barriers, create a psychologically safe educational space, and employ practical techniques for establishing contact amidst modern challenges. In addition, attendees familiarized themselves with effective psychological safety tools, specifically the use of ecological “icebreakers” for the effective removal of the affective filter and techniques for improving pedagogical speech.

The lecturer clearly demonstrated that the strength of a teacher’s influence lies in the ability to sense the boundary between suggestion and support. And faith in the student, a compassionate word, and an atmosphere of safety are exactly what helps unlock the inner potential of every learner and makes learning truly inspiring.
